1. Time Out New York - August 4, 2009

To John Oliver, Rob Riggle’s interview style is characterized as “uniquely physical.” Well, what exactly does that mean? Considering the fact that the former Daily Show correspondent was just promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the US Marine Corps Reserve, it’s to be expected that he always tries to portray “an element of danger” to his helpless subjects. Time Out New York got the juice from the the comedian/army extraordinnaire as he dished on his new role in The Goods, his relationship with John Stewart, and what he likes to do on a phone interview:

“…It’s always important to start out super sweet and nice, and then go, ‘Hold on one second’ and yell ‘Put that down, motherfucker!!!’ And then come back and say, ‘Oh, I’m sorry. Where were we?’”
